Canadian-born flower child Sarah Lafleur’s acting career began in 1994 when she lent her voice to the character of Sailor Uranus in the anime film Sailor Moon S: The Movie. It was a good move on her part, because it led to a reprisal of the role in the movie with the longest title ever: Bishôjo senshi Sêrâ Mûn super S: Sêrâ 9 senshi shûketsu! Burakku dorîmu hôru no kiseki (1995) aka, Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie: Black Dream Hole, as well as the accompanying TV series Sailor Moon, which ran from 1995-2000. Sarah also appeared in actual person (not just as a voice), playing various roles on the series History Bites from 1998-2004, and landed the role of Carolyn in the big-screen feature Shall We Dance (2004) with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. She did pop-ups on CSI: NY, Night Stalker, The Unit, Grey’s Anatomy, Without a Trace, Crossing Jordan, The Mentalist, Prime Suspect, Rizzoli & Isles, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Major Crimes, Criminal Minds, NCIS: Los Angeles, and Bones—basically, all the good cop dramas (plus one hospital one). For a comedic break, Sarah starred as Molly in Ugly Betty from 2008-2009. She also took all that practice on police shows to win the part of Emily, a girl in uniform, in the SyFy TV movie Lake Placid 2 with John Schneider. It was primetime, so there wasn’t any nudity, but it’s SyFy, who has a tendency to push the envelope, and Sarah was inside the envelope this time. She strips down to her skivvies to investigate a swamp. When she climbs back into the boat, her bra is a bit soggy, and sags as she bends over, showing as much boob as possible without a TV censor raining hellfire. It’s magnificent!
